About Us
Since 1951, ThriveMore, formerly known as Baptist Retirement Homes of North Carolina, has served as one of North Carolina’s most respected providers of long-term care. In 2000, a Foundation was formed to support the benevolent ministry of the Homes. The Baptist Retirement Homes Foundation still stands, and our mission has only grown.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, gifts to Baptist Retirement Homes Foundation, federal tax ID number 56-2205837, are tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law.
Benevolent Care Fund
Benevolent Care is the cornerstone of the Baptist Retirement Homes Foundation and one of the most meaningful ways you can support the older adults we serve at ThriveMore. Through the support of the Foundation, ThriveMore provides approximately $3 million dollars a year in benevolent care to those in need in our communities across the state. At present, just under 25% of our residents enrolled in our healthcare programs are receiving benevolent support. Your gift to the Benevolent Care Fund ensures that qualified residents always have a loving place to call home.
Medicine from the Heart
Started in 2019, our Medicine from the Heart program is designed to help offset the cost of prescription drugs for older adults who cannot afford this costly but necessary expense. Older adults on fixed or low incomes are often forced to make difficult decisions between prescription co-pays and other expenses like utility or grocery bills. Baptist Retirement Homes Foundation worked with two family owned pharmacies in Eastern NC to develop this program and then with two local churches to serve as fiduciary of this fund. Watch our video below to learn more about the program and the positive impact it is having.
Employee Hardship Fund
Since approximately 2010, ThriveMore has been proud to offer employees access to a hardship fund. This fund is in place to help cope with unexpected hardships that place financial stress on them and their families. These hardships can be tied to a major life event like an accident, illness or loss of life, or even a natural disaster. It is a benefit that we are proud to provide, and one that brings our mission to life.
