Medicine from the Heart

Started in 2019, our Medicine from the Heart program is designed to help offset the cost of prescription drugs for older adults who cannot afford this costly but necessary expense. Older adults on fixed or low incomes are often forced to make difficult decisions between prescription co-pays and other expenses like utility or grocery bills. Baptist Retirement Homes Foundation worked with two family owned pharmacies in Eastern NC to develop this program and then with two local churches to serve as fiduciary of this fund. Watch our video below to learn more about the program and the positive impact it is having.
