ThriveMore, formerly Baptist Retirement Homes of North Carolina, is pleased to announce it is growing and will serve more seniors with the acquisition of Ardenwoods Continuing Care Retirement Community outside Asheville, North Carolina. The sale closed on October 1, 2023.

Ardenwoods, formerly owned by Retirement Living Associates Inc. of Raleigh, has 95 independent living apartments and 48 assisted living apartments nestled among beautiful mountain views, about 15 minutes from both Asheville and Hendersonville.
The Ardenwoods community fits into ThriveMore’s mission to provide for seniors at every stage of their healthcare journey. Situated on 48 acres and offering premiere retirement living, Ardenwoods includes a fitness center, woodland hiking trails, and a heated indoor pool. Residents can also enjoy a creative arts studio and woodworking shop, attend lectures and classes, and help tend to the campus gardens.
To ensure that it can serve as many seniors as successfully as possible, ThriveMore has also transferred ownership of its Asheville skilled nursing facility, which is called Western North Carolina, in Asheville to Brighton Healthcare Group. Brighton Healthcare, which already has a presence in the Asheville area, has expertise in standalone skilled nursing care, which brings economies of scale to its operations and a high level of excellence for residents of Western North Carolina. This was a difficult decision for ThriveMore leaders and board but the right one, as it allows the organization to continue its’ mission well into the future.
Though ThriveMore takes pride in its Baptist heritage, residents of all faith backgrounds have always and will always be welcomed on all of its campuses. Together, with residents and staff, ThriveMore intends to keep thriving.
